The City of Chariton is interested in improving the quality of life for our residents. This includes improving city facilities and amenities, but also providing a safe place for our residents to live. 

Neighborhood watch programs help our staff know of issues and help us know our residents to improve the quality of life in Chariton. Residents knowing their neighbors also help improve their neighborhoods and communities from nuisance properties, theft, and other issues.
