The City of Chariton is now accepting applications for the following seasonal positions at the Vredenburg-Chariton Aquatic Center: manager, asst. manager, lifeguards, concession stand manager and attendants, swim lesson coordinators, instructors and lifeguard training instructors.  All lifeguard and manager applicants should possess a current Red Cross Lifeguarding Certificate or must obtain one by either taking the class offered by the City this summer or through another agency.   Lifeguarding certification is preferred but not required for attendant applicants.   Swim less coordinator and lifeguard training instructor applicants must possess proper Red Cross certification or obtain it by June of 20-08.  Applications should be returned to City hall no later than March 31, 2008.  Applications may be picked up at City Hall.  The city of Chariton is an equal opportunity employer.

The City of Chariton is now accepting applications for seasonal positions at the Chariton Cemetery beginning April 7, 2008 and ending September 20, 2008.  Applications may be picked up at City Hall and should be returned no later than April 1, 2008.  Applicants must be a least 18 years of age.  (EOE)

The Chariton Police Department and Lucas County Sheriff's Office will be accepting resumes through April 18, 2008, for the position of patrolman and Deputy Sheriff, respectively.  The Deputy Sheriff's position is civil service.   Therefore, anyone applying for both positions will be required to pass the civil service exam.  The starting wage for the Police Department is $14.78.  the starting wage for the Sheriff's Office is $15.98
