Plans are now being made for our 2010 4th of July Celebration. Mark you calendars so you can spend it with us. ******************************************************************************
Make plans now to attend the 4th of July celebration in Chariton on July 2 - 4, 2010. Three days packed with family, friends, fun, free entertainment, music, food, drink, rides, and contests. Carnival rides, bingo, races, fireworks. Come join in the fun!! A tentative schedule for each day is will be posted as soon as it is available.
The FREE entertainment scheduled for the Chariton 4th of July Celebration 2010 is as follows. Big Daddy Blues will be on stage Friday, July 2, 2010. The Southern Cross band of Peopia, Illinois, which was here last year and enjoyed by many, will provide the free evening entertainment, July 3, 2010. A local band will take the stage on July 4, 2010. All bands will play from 8pm - 12am. Bring your lawn chairs and enjoy the evenings with friends and neighbors.
2010 shirts are in the works and will be introduced at the 4th of July Committee's Fundraising Auction, February 6, 2010. Shirts for 2009, plus previous years, may also be purchased. The 4th of July Committee held their annual fundraising dinner, auction, and dance, February 2, 2008 at the Eagles Club. The weather was perfect for the large crowd that attended. After enjoying a pork loin dinner, all donated items went on the auction block. Thanks to Ken Kline for handling the auctioneer duties. The committee would like to thank all those who donated items for the auction and also to all those who purchased them. We are looking forward to a fun filled three days of celebration in July. Funds from the auction help to defray the expenses of fireworks and entertainment.
