The 4th of July ~ It's a Family Affair in CHARITON IOWA!
We are starting to make plans for our 2012 4th of July Celebration. We will be celebrating July 2 - July 4. The parade and fireworks will be on the 4th. Mark your calendars so you can spend the 4th with us. ******************************************************************************
We will be hosting the
2nd Annual Johnson Machine Works Flying Anvil 5K Walk/Run
during the 2012 4th of July celebration. Watch for details.
Thank you to Johnson Machine for sponsoring this First Annual Flying Anvil Walk/Run. All proceeds did benefit the 4th of July Committee to help defray expenses of our celebration.

The 2012 4th of July shirt will be introduced at the 4th of July Committee's Fundraising Auction, January 28, 2012. All shirt proceeds benefit the 4th of July Committee.

THE PARADE LINE UP WILL BE POSTED AT KUM AND GO ON MAIN THE MORNING OF THE PARADE. PLEASE CHECK THERE FOR YOUR NUMBER. Please do not call prior to parade day as we will not be able to give you information until parade day.

The 4th of July Committee held their annual fundraising dinner, auction, and dance, February 5, 2011 at the Eagles Club. The weather was perfect for the large crowd that attended. After enjoying a pork loin dinner, all donated items went on the auction block. Thanks to Ken Kline for handling the auctioneer duties. The committee would like to thank all those who donated items for the auction and also to all those who purchased them. We are looking forward to a fun filled three days of celebration July 2, 3, 4, 2011. Funds from the auction help to defray the expenses of fireworks and entertainment.
